Key Summary Points
In my opinion, sustainability is driven by three vectors of energy and effort – reduce, reuse, and renew.
Our focus is around three pillars - products, people, and the planet.
We are constantly stretching the technology frontiers to make sure that we remain at the forefront of leveraging AI, software, and our product expertise when it comes to automation.
It is critical to invest in the right talent and resources, and the communities they are in. Especially in these turbulent times, we must look at providing flexibility to the workforce and investing back into communities.
When you think about sustainability, the obvious straightforward targets are power efficiency and light-weighting. The bigger win, therefore, lies in the scenario where we attain power efficiency and reduce weights to help our clients become more efficient.
The focus is on investing in the development of software and AI platforms. In my opinion, this will be the key to achieve our sustainability goals and ensuring that we can develop more efficient operations for our clients.
We have set a target that 25% of our supply chain (third-party vendors, supply base, and OEMs) will commit to sustainability targets.
When your supply chain commits to sustainability, it helps you improve holistically.
You must build backward, from the customer’s perspective. In the retail industry, everybody wants their products faster. This puts additional pressure on the retail companies. We are therefore working to build sustainable solutions that can synergize with their analytics and legacy capabilities. Customers today are looking for solutions that improve the overall value proposition.
The automation market is changing at an unprecedented speed. There is an urgency involved, and organizations are investing more to stay competitive.
It is a learning journey for both our customers and us.

From a business perspective, sustainability is important to our shareholders. It makes us more efficient and profitable.
The environment perspective and the business perspective have converged, and we are at a point where sustainability engineering is the way to go.
