I feel that businesses today must realize that a one-time-only, static new product design mindset may not be the best way to future-proof their global operations. What they need is a whole relook at product design. While design for availability could be the strategy for short to medium term success, design for agility paradigm holds the key to a long-term roadmap.
An effective balance between these two approaches would help ensure that organizations are not only ready for potential challenges, but are also able to respond faster to emerging opportunities in today’s dynamic business environment.
