Why is it Important?

You might ask why is a video guideline important, when there are already design guidelines in place.

Ensure subject is looking into the camera.

Helpful tip: Have a person standing right behind the camera and interacting with the subject.

Background options:
Green screen for videos where stock footage needs to be added in
post-production
White or plain color BGs
In case of busy backgrounds (unavoidable circumstances), lock focus on subject to create an automatic shallow depth of field, leading to a slightly blurred background
In case of shoots done over virtual calls, use the LTTS branded background

Follow the 2-3 angles rule here as well
Close-up shots are also advisable

Note: The only exceptions are uncontrolledenvironments such as events, factory shoots etc.

B-Rolls

Do not look at B-Rolls as fillers for your video. They add character and depth to the story.

Do not stage it – candid footage is always the better option
Capture as much as possible within the time frame
Use a drone wherever possible to capture overviews
Capture human moments. Do not capture people eating

Intro and Outro

We establish our brand right from the get-go and end on a memorable note as well. Intros should be simple, stating the purpose andallowing the viewer to settle into the content.

The LTTS moniker is always centered
There should always be a same colored patch (similar to the background colour) behind the LTTS logo
The background color for intros and outros will always be in LTTS blue, white, yellow, black, light blue, and green
The mild dotted textures in the background are always maintained
Outros incorporate the LTTS positioning statement with or without the logo
In case of using without the logo, it will incorporate two primary colors, black and yellow, in mid-sentence splits

Logo

When we add the intro/outro screens in a video, we must not include the LTTS logo for any insidescreens.

When we do not add the intro/outro screens in a video, we must
fade in and fade out the single line LTTS logo (either in white or
black color) for the inside screens.

The logo should always be placed on the top-left or occasionally top-right (while fading in or out)
The logo will be in black or white. For the purpose of videos, we will avoid the dynamic logo

Exceptions to the rule:

In case of logo reveal, for partnership-led or animated videos, logo placement can be omitted

Signature Transitions

When it comes to a video series use these signature transitions to ensure standardized look and feel. However, these are not restrictive in nature. Feel free to explore multiple transitions depending on the nature of your video.

For the purpose of standardizing LTTS videos, we have created two signature transitions that extend our design guidelines. Introducing the Rhombus Sweep and the Rhombus Reveal.

We will explore how these transitions take place, the guidelines for same and instances where it is mandatory to use them. Feel free to explore multiple transitions depending on the nature of your video.

RHOMBUS SWEEP

The Rhombus Sweep adapts the following primary colors.
Option in yellow and blue:

The Rhombus Reveal adapts the following primary colors. Option in all white or all black:

CROSS-DISSOLVE

Please note, you can use any transition as you see fit, barring places where it is a must to use the LTTS signature transitions. But, you mustalways ensure the transitions are in LTTS primary colors: black or blue as shown in the below examples.

Supers

The following, however, can be a helpful guide:

Font: Open sans semi bold, Font size: 12pt
Alignment of supers will depend on subject’s position
Supers will always be in LTTS black or white. While highlighted text (mid-sentence splits) will always be in LTTS yellow or blue
In case of a busy background, supers can have an underlying banner in brand colors: ONLY black, white and blue with degrees of opacity

SPEAKERS

Intro

Every speaker-led video will start with the speaker in the background and a gradient overlay in primary colors: only black, white or blue. NO yellow
The overlay will have the following:

• Dotted texture
• Elements and icons (to add character) as following:
• Grey elements on white overlay
• Yellow elements on blue overlay
• Grey elements on black overlay

• Title of video will be as following:
• Headline in UPPERCASE and yellow
• Name and designation of speaker in sentence case and
in black or white
• In case of black overlay, the entire text will be in white

Suggested Transitions

When in doubt, fall back on these options for your opening transitions. Refer to the signature transitions section for subsequent transitions.

Name and Designation

For videos that are not completely speaker-led, where speakers appear sporadically the following can be a good guide for their name and designation:

Refer to the images for banner + text colors – these need to be followed irrespective of video type and background
Font and colors will be as per overall brand identity
The text will always be in sentence case
